In 2018, China's industrial robot production exceeded one-third of the global total
Minister of Industry and Information Technology Miao Wei said at the opening ceremony of the 2019 World Robot Conference on the 20th that with the rapid development of the global robot industry, China's robot industry has also made great progress. In 2018, China's industrial robot production reached 148000 sets, accounting for more than 38% of global production.
Miao Wei stated that since the beginning of this year, the global growth of industrial robots has slowed down due to the impact of the international economic development environment. At the same time, the robot industry is also facing many problems and challenges in its development process. Key core technologies need to be further improved, application scenarios and fields need to be further expanded, and risk prevention and legal systems need to be further improved.
But with the acceleration of global industrial transformation and upgrading, the acceleration of consumption upgrading, especially the expansion of robot technology innovation and application fields, the improvement of supply capacity, and the expansion of demand scale, the robot industry will continue to maintain a rapid development momentum, "said Miao Wei.
The "Report on the Development of China's Robot Industry (2019)" released by the China Electronics Society this month pointed out that the current industrial robot market in China is maintaining good development, accounting for about one-third of the global market share, and is the world's largest industrial robot application market.
According to the International Federation of Robotics (IFR), the density of industrial robots in China reached 97 units per 10000 people in 2017, exceeding the global average. It is expected that China's robot density will exceed 130 units per 10000 people in 2021, reaching the average level of developed countries.
