On April 8, the symposium on scientific and technological cooperation between Shandong Province and the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement were held in Beijing. Provincial Party Secretary Liu Jiayi, President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Bai Chunli attended and delivered speeches, Vice Governor Yu Jie attended, and Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Zhang Yaping presided over the meeting.
Liu Jiayi, on behalf of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government, expresses sincere gratitude to the Chinese Academy of Sciences for its long-term strong support and assistance to Shandong. He said that currently, Shandong is deeply implementing the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech and instructions during his inspection of Shandong, making every effort to implement the eight major development strategies of transforming old and new driving forces, rural revitalization, and building a strong maritime province, and accelerating the promotion of high-quality development. Technological innovation is a powerful driving force and important support for achieving high-quality development. Shandong is currently in a critical period of climbing mountains and overcoming obstacles. We sincerely hope that the Chinese Academy of Sciences will continue to leverage its advantages in technological innovation and talent gathering, increase cooperation between provincial and academic institutions, accelerate the construction of Shandong's innovation platform, accelerate the development of Shandong's marine science and technology, support Shandong's acceleration of rural revitalization, energy industry development, construction of higher technology research institutes, implementation of major scientific plans and projects, and strengthen the exchange of cadres and talents between the two sides. We will sincerely do a good job in service guarantee, create a good environment for cooperation between the Provincial Academy, and enable academicians and various scientific research talents to work and live smoothly in Shandong.
Bai Chunli thanked Shandong for its strong support to the work of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and was sincerely pleased with the remarkable achievements made in Shandong's economic and social development. He said that the cooperation between the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Shandong Province has a good foundation and is developing towards scale and normalization, which will undoubtedly play a good role in promoting the next step of cooperation between the academy and the province. The Chinese Academy of Sciences will take this signing as an opportunity to strengthen cooperation with Shandong in the construction of major scientific research platforms, the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and the integration of scientific research forces. They will jointly promote the inclusion of the Qingdao Marine Pilot National Laboratory, as well as the cooperation between the Energy Research Institute and talent exchange and secondment. They will actively participate in the implementation of Shandong's major scientific plans and projects, provide more scientific and technological support and innovation guarantees for the high-quality development of Shandong, and promote the cooperation between the institute and the province to a new level.
After the symposium, Yu Jie and Zhang Yaping, on behalf of the provincial academy, signed the Cooperation Agreement of the Chinese Academy of Sciences of the People's Government of Shandong Province on Promoting the Major Project of Shandong New and Old Kinetic Energy Conversion.
The Chinese Academy of Sciences has a good cooperative relationship with Shandong, and has signed three rounds of comprehensive cooperation agreements in recent years. The Chinese Academy of Sciences has established three integrated research institutes and 22 branches or sub branches in Shandong, including the Institute of Oceanography, Qingdao Bioenergy and Process Research Institute, and Yanhe Coastal Zone Research Institute. It has also built a number of major innovation platforms for provincial and institutional cooperation, such as Shandong Xinsong Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, Jinan Quantum Technology Research Institute, and Industrial Technology Collaborative Innovation Center, providing continuous innovation capability support for Shandong's economic transformation and development. In the past five years, more than 800 cooperative projects have been implemented in Shandong, with a cumulative increase in sales revenue of over 150 billion yuan for enterprises and a profit and tax of 17.3 billion yuan.
