Vast space, great potential - Provincial associations visit the Yellow River Science and Technology Innovation Center of Shandong Sci Tech Innovation Group in the starting area of new and old kinetic energy conversion
On the afternoon of August 27, 2025, in order to fully unleash the advantages of provincial-level association platform resources, accurately build a bridge between technology supply and demand, and assist in the efficient promotion of the construction of Shandong Sci Tech Innovation · Yellow River Sci Tech Innovation Center, the Shandong Provincial Social Organization Development Service Center organized a team of provincial-level association experts to visit key science and technology innovation projects in the starting area of the transformation of old and new kinetic energy in Jinan City. Through a combination of on-site research, discussions and exchanges, they provided professional intellectual support and targeted policy recommendations for project development.
As the second national level new area approved by the State Council after Hebei Xiong'an New Area, Jinan's new and old kinetic energy conversion starting area has profound significance: it carries the strategic high expectations for the future development of Shandong Province and Jinan City, and is the leading engine for Jinan to move from the "Daming Lake era" to the "Yellow River era", known as the "Xiong'an New Area of Jinan". Its strategic value is reflected in a dual dimension - it is not only the core pivot of the "North Starting" strategy in the implementation of Jinan's new urban development pattern of "East Strong, West Prosperous, South American, North Starting, and Middle Excellent", but also able to solve Jinan's long-term development dilemma of "East West Long, North South Narrow" and open up a new growth pole for the city; It is also a key lever for implementing the national strategy of "ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin", and shoulders the important mission of building a leading demonstration zone for ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin.
Under the leadership of Yin Lichun, Chairman of the Shandong Social Organization Development Service Center, leaders and experts from provincial-level associations such as the Shandong Equipment Manufacturing Industry Association and the Shandong Coking Industry Association conducted research at the exhibition halls in the starting area cities. It is reported that the starting area for the conversion of new and old kinetic energy in Jinan is located in the north of Jinan, spanning both banks of the Yellow River, starting from Xiaoqing River in the south, ending at Tuhai River in the north, starting from Yufu River in the west, and ending at the eastern boundary of Lingang Street in the east. The planned area is about 798 square kilometers, which is equivalent to the current main urban area of Jinan. In the future, it can accommodate a population of about 5-6 million. Such a vast spatial scale provides sufficient physical support for the development of Jinan in the coming decades.
The research team visited the Shandong Science and Technology Innovation · Yellow River Science and Technology Innovation Center. The person in charge introduced the project construction progress, incubation system construction, and operation mode. Experts combined industry insights to exchange and discuss core issues in project development on site, providing professional ideas for project optimization.
The relevant person in charge of Shandong Science and Technology Innovation Group has fully released the cooperation opportunities and development potential of the starting area and the Yellow River Science and Technology Innovation Center through project promotion; The person in charge of the Social Organization Development Service Center of Shandong Province made a speech clarifying the core direction of serving the national strategy of "ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin" through the mode of political and social coordination. In the subsequent free exchange session, the leaders of each provincial association introduced themselves based on their own profile, field advantages, characteristic services, and cooperation needs, and had in-depth interactions with relevant personnel from the starting area and the Yellow River Science and Technology Innovation Center. All parties unanimously expressed that they will further enhance their political stance, closely follow the national strategic deployment, fully leverage the resources and industry experience advantages of the association, deepen the docking and cooperation with the starting area: not only promote the establishment of a long-term cooperation mechanism between provincial associations and starting area projects, but also take the transformation of scientific and technological achievements as a key lever, promote the deep linkage between member units and starting area projects, help the starting area build a benchmark for high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin, and inject strong strength into the transformation of old and new kinetic energy in Shandong!
