The Jining Machinery Industry Chamber of Commerce has successfully concluded its exchange and inspection activities in Taiwan and will return to Jining by plane tomorrow. During their stay in Taiwan, the delegation visited the "2017 Taiwan Machine Tool Exhibition" throughout the day on March 8th. On March 9th, 10th, and 13th, they respectively visited Taiwan Xuyang International Precision Machinery Co., Ltd., Shangyin Technology Co., Ltd., and Dongtai Precision Machinery Co., Ltd. The itinerary was tight and the gains were abundant. After several days of on-site visits, discussions, and exchanges, the inspection team has gained a deeper understanding of Taiwan's equipment manufacturing industry. Taiwan's equipment manufacturing industry mainly focuses on machine tools, tools, and specialized equipment, with a large scale, high degree of specialization, good product quality, and low cost. According to Taiwanese sources, Taiwan's machine tool industry ranks fifth in the world and is the third largest exporter of machine tools. Textile machinery ranks fifth in the world, rubber and plastic machinery ranks third, woodworking machinery ranks third, and shoe making machinery ranks second in the world. However, the manufacturing of automobiles, heavy machinery, shipbuilding, power generation and transmission equipment is not very developed. What left a deep impression on the inspection team was Taiwan's machine tool industry. The Taiwan machine tool industry has a high degree of specialization, with a large number of component manufacturing enterprises and a relatively high level of expertise. Taiwan's machine tool host manufacturers are small but sophisticated, with the largest host manufacturer having only 500 employees. However, they have a large output and good quality, forming a set of "large-scale, specialized, and high-efficiency" production models. This production model is very worth learning from. In recent years, Taiwan's machine tool manufacturing industry has paid more attention to "attaching equal importance to both software and hardware". It not only seeks to improve and make breakthroughs in "hard" aspects, such as machine tool specifications, parameters, precision, and the number of linkage shafts, but also in "soft" aspects, such as product function, performance, and practicality, through the Internet, sensor technology, expert intelligence, etc., to endow products with higher quality. Taiwan Dongtai Precision Machinery Co., Ltd. is a typical example in this regard. As a machine tool manufacturer, during our visit, we learned that in recent years, Dongtai Precision Machinery's products have focused more on enhancing their comprehensive solution capabilities, improving customer experience, and allowing users to understand the difference between "usable" and "very useful". The members of the inspection team expressed during the exchange that through the exchange and inspection, we want to learn about the supporting chain of Taiwan's manufacturing industry. We can be guided by the government and coordinated by industry associations to establish a complete industrial supporting chain in our city's equipment manufacturing industry, avoiding vicious competition and resource waste among enterprises. Although the global economic environment remains sluggish and Taiwan's equipment manufacturing industry has been greatly impacted due to its high degree of external dependence, the entire equipment manufacturing industry in Taiwan has been able to maintain healthy development, which is worth learning from. The members of the inspection team have also been inspired by this and suggest that our city's enterprises make efforts to adjust their industrial structure and develop high value-added products. The members of the inspection team also stated that although our city's machine tool production and research and development work has made significant progress in recent years, there is still a certain gap with our Taiwanese counterparts. Our city's machine tool industry is still dominated by economical CNC machine tools, with relatively few mid to high end CNC machine tools and a low overall level. However, our Taiwanese counterparts have obvious advantages in the machine tool host and component industry. In the future, we can strengthen cooperation and exchanges between relevant enterprises in our city and our Taiwanese counterparts. We have advantages in labor, capital, and other aspects, and our Taiwanese counterparts are leading in quality control, product research and development, etc. We hope that through this exchange and inspection, we can find suitable cooperation opportunities for our city's equipment manufacturing enterprises in Taiwan.
