Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's "Support Recruitment"! How to create an upgraded version of intelligent manufacturing?

On October 21st, Lu Ruiyang, a first level researcher at the Intelligent Manufacturing Department of the Equipment Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, stated at the 2025 International Automotive Digitalization and Intelligent Manufacturing Conference that as of now, China has built over 35000 basic level intelligent factories, more than 7000 advanced level intelligent factories, and over 500 excellent level intelligent factories. The scale and level of intelligent factory construction are globally leading; Accumulatively cultivating over 6500 suppliers of intelligent manufacturing solutions, covering the entire manufacturing industry; Led the development of 51 international standards and 489 national standards, and established an intelligent manufacturing standard system and maturity model that is in line with international standards. At the same time, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has also laid out and implemented a number of major innovation projects in intelligent manufacturing, effectively promoting the integrated innovation and system application of advanced processes, intelligent equipment, and industrial software.

Lu Ruiyang believes that intelligent manufacturing is not a simple combination of technologies, but a systematic transformation involving production methods, business models, and industrial ecosystems.

For this, he put forward three suggestions.

Firstly, strengthen the guidance of technological innovation. Focusing on the bottleneck and cutting-edge direction of intelligent manufacturing, strengthening original innovation around high-end equipment, core components, and manufacturing processes, and supporting leading talents and teams to carry out chain research and development; Promote the deep integration of artificial intelligence and manufacturing processes, break through high-precision CNC machine tools, high flexibility intelligent assembly robots, and adaptive process control technology, strive to achieve more original results in the field of underlying technology, and promote key core technologies to align with international advanced standards.

Secondly, deepen the coordinated development of the industrial chain. Expand the cultivation scope of smart factories, guide enterprises to build flexible and efficient production systems based on their own foundations, in a hierarchical and step-by-step manner, and achieve full chain collaboration in research and development, manufacturing, and supply chain management. Give full play to the leading and supporting role of industry platforms such as the Intelligent Manufacturing Alliance in the automotive industry, build a scene library for intelligent manufacturing in the automotive industry, and create a public technology base for intelligent manufacturing; Improve the intelligent manufacturing standard system, accelerate the development and application of leading standards; Continuously carry out the promotion of core equipment and software research and development, and consolidate the foundation of industrial collaboration.

Thirdly, promote high-level open cooperation. The cooperation in the field of intelligent manufacturing of automobiles knows no borders and requires the global industrial chain to work together. We should continue to expand opening up and encourage Chinese and foreign enterprises to deepen cooperation in areas such as technology research and development, standard setting, and scenario application, and share opportunities in the Chinese market; Support enterprises to participate in the reconstruction of the global industrial chain, promote the international application of intelligent manufacturing technology, and jointly build a new pattern of open, inclusive, cooperative and integrated global automotive industry.
