Xin Guobin visits COMAC to investigate 5G intelligent manufacturing factories

On May 21, 2019, Xin Guobin, Deputy Minister of Industry and Information Technology, led a team to China Commercial Aircraft Corporation (COMAC) to carry out 5G operationsSmart ManufacturingSpecial research was conducted and discussions were held with relevant officials and experts from Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC), China Unicom, and Huawei.

Xin Guobin and his delegation visited the AR/VR laboratory of Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC), experienced 5G autonomous driving intelligent vehicles, and conducted in-depth research on the application of 5G industrial scenarios in the composite workshop, assembly workshop, and CNC workshop. After the visit, I listened to a report from Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China on the construction of 5G.

Xin Guobin pointed out that the application of emerging technologies such as 5G and cloud computing in the industrial field is an important means to promote the transformation and upgrading of Chinese manufacturing, advance intelligent manufacturing, and promote high-quality development of the manufacturing industry. COMAC took the lead in layout and actively explored, building a number of 5G industrial application scenarios, effectively improving the production and research efficiency of large aircraft.

Xin Guobin emphasized that the application of 5G in the industrial field plays an important role in improving the comprehensive quality control system and conducting quality innovation research. COMAC should continue to adhere to the development model of small core and large cooperation, and deeply integrate with Internet enterprises, equipment enterprises and mobile communication enterprises to jointly support the high-quality development of manufacturing industry.

Officials from the Equipment Industry Department, Information and Software Services Department, Information and Communication Management Bureau of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Equipment Industry Development Center, and Huawei participated in the research.
