The Development and Application of Artificial Intelligence in Future Manufacturing Industry
Since the outbreak of the international financial crisis in 2008, developed countries have begun to reflect on the excessive outsourcing of manufacturing. And proposed a series of policies to help the return of the manufacturing industry.
In this context, with the help of big data and the Internet of ThingsArtificial IntelligenceThe new generation of information technology represented by has ushered in a golden period of development and once again empowered the manufacturing industry to rapidly develop towards digitization, networking, and intelligence.
At the same time, there is a heated debate about whether artificial intelligence will once again replace humans. So, in the manufacturing industry, can artificial intelligence coexist harmoniously with humans, and how will artificial intelligence develop in the manufacturing industry? Today, we will analyze these issues.
Human machine collaboration, not machines replacing humans
Nowadays, the combination of artificial intelligence and manufacturing is mainly aimed at enabling robots to "reach or even exceed the level of human technicians" in order to improve the production efficiency of enterprises. However, the process of making the manufacturing industry "intelligent" is fundamentally different from the past where we relied solely on machines to replace humans.
The traditional pursuit of "automation" is the automatic production of machines, which essentially replaces humans with machines, while the development process of "intelligence" in modern manufacturing is more focused on the flexible production of machines, which essentially belongs to human-machine collaboration.
Under the guidance of a new concept, robots can undertake more repetitive, simple, and even dangerous tasks, while helping humans liberate themselves from complex work and gain more opportunities to engage in creative work. Compared to the complete replacement of humans by artificial intelligence, factories do not have to worry about AI making wrong decisions and delaying production, nor do they have to consider the problem of reduced efficiency when humans do repetitive labor. Both sides complement each other's strengths and weaknesses, maximizing production efficiency. In the long run, this approach undoubtedly meets the needs of production and society.
