Assisting in the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and promoting innovative development in the industry - Shandong Science and Technology Innovation Group visits Shandong Equipment Manufacturing Industry Association

Due to poor information sharing, high investment, high risks, slow results, and a disconnect between technology and economy, as well as a lack of comprehensive high-end R&D talents, the low conversion rate of scientific and technological achievements has always been a social and economic development problem. On November 30th, Chen Wenlong, General Manager of the Science and Technology Achievement Conversion Center of Shandong Science and Technology Innovation Group Co., Ltd., and his delegation visited the Shandong Equipment Manufacturing Industry Association to exchange ideas on the integration of industry, academia, and research and the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. Vice Secretary General Wang Qun and Minister of Propaganda Guo Guangli received and accompanied the discussion.

Chen Wenlong introduced that Shandong Science and Technology Innovation Group Co., Ltd. (referred to as Shandong Science and Technology Innovation), established in July 2017, is a provincial-level state-owned wholly-owned enterprise approved by the Shandong Provincial Government and relying on enterprises affiliated with Qilu University of Technology (Shandong Academy of Sciences). It is a technology achievement transformation group company specialized in provincial enterprises. Currently, it has more than 170 controlling and participating enterprises, including 54 high-tech enterprises, 13 national level "specialized, refined, new and small giants", 22 provincial-level "gazelle enterprises", and 30 provincial-level "specialized, refined, new and special" enterprises, with strong capabilities in science and technology innovation services.

Although the above factors have increased the difficulty of transforming scientific and technological achievements, the environment for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements is gradually improving with the increasing attention of the country to scientific and technological innovation, as well as the focus of industry and capital on original scientific research achievements.

Chen Wenlong also introduced the selection mechanism for identifying the "5310" with promising prospects for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, as well as the work carried out by Shandong Science and Technology Innovation Group, such as "experts and PhDs entering enterprises" and the cultivation of leading talents in small and medium-sized enterprises. He hoped to use the rich membership resources of Shandong Equipment Manufacturing Industry Association to promote the deep integration of industry and academia and the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and promote the high-quality development of the industry.

Wang Qun introduced to Chen Wenlong the operation status of the "Shandong Equipment Manufacturing Industry Association Science and Technology Innovation Award" aimed at accelerating the transformation of scientific and technological achievements; Guo Guangli also had a detailed discussion on how to overcome the difficulties encountered in the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. Wang Canjun from the Science and Technology Innovation Group and Chen Hongmiao from the Propaganda Department participated in this symposium.
