Leading, innovating, and cooperating - Secretary General Su Hongxing visits China National Heavy Duty Truck Group
China National Heavy Duty Truck Group is the cradle of China's heavy vehicle industry and has made outstanding contributions to the development of China's heavy vehicle industry and national economic construction. Su Hongxing, Secretary General of Shandong Equipment Manufacturing Industry Association, and Lee Kuan Yew, Deputy Secretary General, were recently invited to visit China National Heavy Duty Truck Group to discuss cooperation with enterprises.
Li Congjun, Chief Expert of Strategic Planning Department of China National Heavy Duty Truck Group, introduced that the predecessor of China National Heavy Duty Truck Group was Jinan Automobile Manufacturing Plant. In 1960, it produced and manufactured China's first heavy-duty vehicle - the Yellow River JN150 eight ton cargo truck, ending the history of China's inability to produce heavy-duty vehicles. The group owns a full range of commercial vehicle brands such as Huanghe, Shandeka, and HOWO, and is the enterprise with the most comprehensive driving form and power coverage in China's heavy truck industry. It has become the largest heavy truck production base in China, exporting products to more than 110 countries and regions, maintaining the top export position in the national heavy truck industry for 15 consecutive years and occupying half of China's heavy truck exports. In the low period of the industry in 2022, China National Heavy Duty Truck Group achieved a reversal of the trend, with a total vehicle sales of 249000 units and a consolidated revenue exceeding 121.4 billion yuan, achieving the "double first" in sales volume and market share. Among them, 89000 units were exported, creating a new record for China's heavy-duty truck industry exports, ranking 158th in the "Top 500 Chinese Enterprises", 69th in the "Top 500 Chinese Manufacturing Enterprises", and 60th in the "Top 100 Most Valuable Brands in China".
Su Hongxing warmly congratulated China National Heavy Duty Truck Group on its brilliant achievements, believing that China National Heavy Duty Truck Group has a long history of development, outstanding innovation capabilities, significant economic benefits, and actively shoulders social responsibilities. He highly praised China National Heavy Duty Truck Group's demonstration and leading role in the national and provincial industrial chains, and introduced the development process, service content, and achievements of Shandong Equipment Manufacturing Industry Association in the integration and consolidation of the industrial chain in recent years.
Su Hongxing pointed out that equipment manufacturing is an advantageous industry in Shandong and also the cornerstone of Shandong's economic development. Compared with developed provinces, there are still problems such as being large but not strong, and having fewer leading innovative enterprises. He stated that the association's next step is to provide comprehensive national services for enterprises, and work together with chain leading enterprises including China National Heavy Duty Truck Group to support the green, low-carbon, and high-quality development of our province's equipment manufacturing industry.
