Shandong leads in multiple specialized fields of marine equipment
Marine equipment is the leading and supporting industry for the development of the marine economy. The reporter learned from the recent high-end docking activities of China Netherlands (Shandong) marine equipment industry cooperation held in Qingdao, Yantai, and Weihai that Shandong has shifted from following the trend in previous years to running in parallel, and has achieved leadership in some characteristic sub sectors.
In terms of shipbuilding industry, Shandong started relatively late and currently has a shipbuilding capacity of 6 million deadweight tons, which is far behind Jiangsu in terms of scale. However, our province's domestic market share of products such as offshore drilling platforms, luxury passenger roll on/roll off ships, and offshore fishing boats is the highest. The market share of semi submersible and self elevating multi type offshore drilling platforms accounts for 80% domestically and over 20% globally. Among the 18 semi submersible offshore platforms built and delivered nationwide, 15 are independently designed and manufactured by Shandong.
Shandong has found a way in the field of characteristic shipbuilding industry, which is partly due to effective local investment promotion and partly due to a group of enterprises actively transforming and upgrading, "said Gu Yizhong, Vice President of the Council of China Shipbuilding Industry Association.
Since last year, our province's shipbuilding industry has accelerated structural adjustment, increased technological research and development efforts based on market demand, and gradually become a leader in segmented markets. CIMC Raffles Marine Engineering Co., Ltd. delivered a marine living platform with independent research, development and design and 100% independent intellectual property rights, and started to build the world's largest and most advanced deepwater aquaculture factory ship. The Asia's largest super yacht "Fantasy" designed and built by its brand Prade Yacht made its maiden voyage. On June 5th this year, the semi submersible barge built by CIMC Raffles ensured the successful launch of China's first sea launch. In addition, Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. completed the world's first task of lengthening and retrofitting a super large container ship and successfully delivered it, creating the world's largest record for container ship cutting and lengthening; Penglai Zhongbai Jinglu Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. has obtained the construction qualification for military ships; In terms of high-end passenger roll on/roll off ships, Huanghai Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. has built a 2000 passenger/3000 meter lane passenger roll on/roll off ship, setting a new record in Asia.
Analyzing the development process of these enterprises, their strong international technology, talent attraction ability, and ability to introduce, digest, absorb, and innovate have ensured their sudden rise in a certain field in recent years. Gu Yizhong believes that in order to achieve healthy and stable development of Shandong's marine equipment industry in the future, it still needs to firmly follow a path of characteristic development and seize the commanding heights of high-end shipbuilding technology in the world.
During his visit, Gu Yizhong found that not only the above-mentioned star companies have already overcome the construction difficulties of the world's shipbuilding industry's "crown jewels" such as large cruise ships and LNG ships, but more importantly, many companies are maintaining an objective and clear understanding of the current sluggish market situation in the shipping industry, and are seizing this "window period" of market environment purification and clearance of outdated production capacity to strengthen their technological reserves.
Capturing this demand, after nearly a year of planning, the Dutch National Enterprise Agency, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in China, the Dutch Maritime Technology Alliance, the Jinan and Qingdao representative offices of the Dutch Trade Promotion Council, together with the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology and the Provincial Shipbuilding Industry Association, jointly organized this high-end docking event for China Netherlands (Shandong) marine equipment industry cooperation. From November 27th to 29th, 11 marine equipment companies from the Netherlands will conduct on-site inspections and visits to marine equipment manufacturing enterprises in Qingdao, Yantai, and Weihai to conduct face-to-face business docking and help upgrade marine equipment technology in our province.
The first dredging ship in China is the result of cooperation between Shandong shipbuilding enterprises and Dutch enterprises, "said Li Gaoliang, General Manager of Zhongrui International Economic and Technological Cooperation (Qingdao) Co., Ltd. Shandong's unique geographical location, strong industrial manufacturing capabilities, and resource gathering capabilities can accelerate the" realization "of advanced marine equipment design ideas and technologies in the Netherlands; Shandong enterprises can accelerate technological upgrades and market information acquisition through communication and collision. Liu Bingyan, the manager of the Engineering Technology Center of Qingdao Haidewei Technology Co., Ltd., who just received equipment supply agreements for 70 ships from the Dutch Maritime Exhibition, mentioned that the Dutch shipping routes can radiate throughout Europe. In this way, Shandong marine equipment enterprises can become a good "bridgehead" for exploring the European market in the process of localizing services and products.
