The 2019 World Robot Conference opens in Beijing
The 2019 World Robot Conference, co hosted by the Beijing Municipal People's Government, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the China Association for Science and Technology, opened at the Yichuang International Convention and Exhibition Center in Beijing. The theme of this conference is "Intelligent New Ecology, Open New Era". Through holding forums, expos, competitions and other activities, exchange and discussion, achievement display, innovation exploration will be carried out to promote collaborative innovation and industrial exchange and cooperation. The conference has received strong support from 22 international authoritative robotics organizations and will continue until August 25th.
Minister of Industry and Information Technology Miao Wei stated at the meeting that since the beginning of this year, the global growth of industrial robots has slowed down due to the impact of the international economic development environment. At the same time, the robot industry also faces many problems and challenges in the development process: key core technologies need to be further improved, application scenarios and fields need to be further expanded, and risk prevention and control and legal and regulatory systems need to be further improved. At present, China's robotics industry has also made significant progress. Overall, as an important carrier for the integration and innovation of the new round of technological revolution and manufacturing industry, robots are still an important driving force for promoting the transformation of old and new kinetic energy and promoting high-quality economic development.
Huai Jinpeng, secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Chinese Association for Science and Technology, executive vice chairman, and academician of the CAS Member, said that in the first half of 2019, the global robot market size reached 14.4 billion dollars, while the Chinese robot market size was 4.25 billion dollars. Many cutting-edge core technologies are breaking through, new products are growing explosively, and the industry is thriving. To promote the healthy development of the robotics industry, firstly, we need to consolidate the foundation and enrich the supply from the source; Secondly, we need to jointly build an ecosystem and cultivate a soil for innovation; Thirdly, we must pay attention to ethics, strengthen the forefront layout of technological governance, and promote the rapid development of intelligent technology. However, the evolution of ethics cannot be ignored; The fourth is to open up cooperation and deepen the mechanism of exchange and sharing. The exchange and integration of goods, technology, funds, and personnel can provide strong impetus and broad space for world economic growth.
It is reported that the 3-day main forum will gather over 300 top industry experts and business leaders from countries such as China, Russia, and the United States.
