The Shanghai Nantong Yangtze River dual-use bridge is a control project for the entire Shanghai Nantong railway line. It is a common river crossing passage for the Shanghai Nantong railway, the Tongsu Jiaxing intercity railway, and the Xitong expressway. It is designed as a 6-lane expressway on the upper level and a 4-line railway on the lower level. The bridge has a total length of 11072 meters and a main span of 1092 meters, making it the world's first dual-purpose cable-stayed bridge with a span exceeding one kilometer for both public and railway use.
