State Administration for Market Regulation: Protecting Trade Secrets to Support Innovative Development

The State Administration for Market Regulation held a national roundtable meeting on the protection of trade secrets for 100 enterprises today (16th). The meeting pointed out that trade secrets are important intellectual property rights of enterprises and their core competitiveness. As creators and owners of trade secrets, enterprises should fulfill their main responsibilities, incorporate the protection of trade secrets into the overall development strategy of the enterprise, coordinate with patent protection, scientifically plan the layout of intellectual property rights, and promote the formation of a good atmosphere of respecting intellectual property rights and protecting trade secrets.

The conference advocates that enterprises should firmly establish the original aspiration of serving the country and building a strong industrial country, and combine the development of enterprises with the prosperity of the country, the prosperity of the nation, and the happiness of the people. On the new journey of building a socialist modern country in an all-round way, we should uphold the entrepreneurial spirit, enhance the sense of responsibility and mission, constantly improve the awareness and ability of protecting business secrets of enterprises, and jointly purify the market competition ecology, so as to make due contributions to promoting high-quality development and comprehensively promoting the construction of Chinese path to modernization.

At the meeting, representatives from hundreds of enterprises jointly signed the "Protecting Trade Secrets to Support Innovative Development" initiative, issuing nine proposals to enterprises across the country: firstly, focusing on the macro situation and serving high-quality development. Secondly, we uphold the spirit of innovation and strive to invent and create. Thirdly, we attach great importance to trade secrets and protect intellectual property rights. The fourth is to improve management systems and consolidate the foundation of protection. The fifth is to increase investment support and enhance protection capabilities. Sixth, abide by business ethics and purify the competitive ecosystem. Seven is to operate with integrity and abide by the law, and fulfill social responsibilities. Eighth, strengthen the linkage between government and enterprises, and improve the protection system. Nine is to follow international rules and participate in global competition.
