Since the establishment of the association, the promotion of scientific and technological innovation of enterprises has been placed in an important position in the development of the industry. In 2020, with the approval of the Shandong Provincial Science and Technology Department, the "Shandong Province Equipment Manufacturing Industry Science and Technology Innovation Award" was officially operated as a brand for industry associations to serve industry enterprises in the province. The association has formulated the "Administrative Measures for the Selection of Science and Technology Innovation Awards of Shandong Equipment Manufacturing Association" and its implementation rules, which stipulate the standardized procedures such as declaration, formal review, preliminary evaluation, final evaluation, on-site inspection, and public announcement. In the past five years, more than 500 projects of equipment manufacturing enterprises in our province have participated in the application, and a total of 135 projects have won innovation awards, including 20 first prizes. The setting and evaluation of the Science and Technology Innovation Award has greatly mobilized the enthusiasm of equipment manufacturing enterprises in the province to participate in innovation, and has also been highly valued by the main leaders of the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology and the Department of Science and Technology. it has become the first innovative service brand of the Provincial equipment Manufacturing Association.

(II) strengthen the construction of science and technology service capacity of industry enterprises, and provide intellectual support for the development and growth of industry enterprises. In accordance with relevant national laws and regulations, in 2020, the association organized authoritative experts in the industry field inside and outside the province to establish a scientific and technological achievements evaluation committee to provide centralized evaluation services for scientific and technological achievements for equipment manufacturing enterprises in our province, and formed a complete set of scientific and technological achievements evaluation system. Over the past year, scientific and technological achievements have been evaluated for more than 50 projects in the province, which not only provides an important basis for enterprises to apply for national and provincial high-tech enterprises, scientific and technological asset evaluation, and scientific and technological achievements promotion, but also provides technical support for industry enterprises to expand markets, capital operation, and obtain policy support.

In terms of service capacity building, in the past five years, the association has successively cooperated with nearly 20 well-known universities such as the Talent Exchange Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Peking University, Tsinghua University, Shandong University, etc., as well as Shandong Industrial Technology Research Institute, National Supercomputing Jinan Center, Shandong Academy of Sciences, etc. A group of national and provincial scientific research institutions have established cooperative relations, using the advantages of information, expertise, technology, and talents to provide enterprises with professional precision services. Over the past five years, our association has achieved rapid development in its own construction. At present, it has more than 3,000 member enterprises, more than 200 governing units, an expert committee composed of more than 400 professors and senior engineers, two directly affiliated municipal offices, three professional branches and four service centers. The association has played an increasingly extensive and important role and has become one of the provincial associations with greater influence and brand awareness in the industry field of our province, in 2019, it was a 5A social organization by the judges of the Provincial Civil Affairs Department.

While seeing the achievements, we are also deeply aware that the association has been established for a relatively short time. Compared with advanced provincial and municipal associations, the ability to serve enterprises needs to be further improved. The level of forward-looking research needs to be strengthened urgently. The role of bridges and bonds has not been fully utilized, etc. It is hoped that these problems and gaps will be resolved as soon as possible in future work.

It also puts forward 10 key tasks, such as focusing on strengthening innovation ability, optimizing industrial layout, upgrading industrial chain, cultivating high-quality enterprises, changing manufacturing mode, strengthening quality brand, promoting digital empowerment, strengthening safe production, promoting green and low-carbon, and deepening international cooperation. As the provincial equipment manufacturing association, we must thoroughly understand the deployment requirements of the central and provincial party committees and governments, analyze and judge the major development opportunities and challenges faced by enterprises in the coming period, and help member enterprises formulate countermeasures to ensure the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry.
