Three major changes! The new version of the national standard "General Principles for Green Factory Evaluation" has been released

Recently, the national standard GB/T 36132-2025 for the evaluation of green factories was released and officially implemented on December 31, 2025. This standard was proposed by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and developed under the leadership of the China Electronics Standardization Institute. This is the first revision of the standard since its implementation in 2018, marking a new stage in the cultivation of green factories in China.

The new standard has three main changes. One is to clarify the new definition and connotation,In combination with the new requirements for green and low-carbon development under the new situation, clarify the new positioning and orientation of green factories, and propose the "new five modernizations", namely, low-carbon energy, efficient resources, clean and purified production, green products, and intensive land use.The second is to reconstruct the indicator system,Establish a first level indicator framework for the "New Five Modernizations", with expandable second and third level indicators, and strengthen the focus on quantitative indicators, highlighting energy conservation, carbon reduction, and efficient resource utilization, with a total weight proportion of up to 60%.The third is to optimize the evaluation method,Introducing a quantitative scoring system based on "benchmark value" and "leading value", enterprises compare actual data with "benchmark value" and "leading value" to obtain scores, which reflect their own level of green development through scoring. This evaluation result is more distinguishable and easier to apply.

Green factories play an important foundational and guiding role in the green and low-carbon transformation of the manufacturing industry. Next, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will increase the promotion and application of the national standard "General Principles for the Evaluation of Green Factories". Focusing on key industries with great potential for energy conservation and carbon reduction and strong industrial green competitiveness, detailed evaluation standards will be formulated by industry to provide technical support for accurate "profiling" of enterprises, guide enterprises to focus more on the transformation and improvement of key indicators, achieve the goal of sustainable cultivation, and lead the improvement and expansion of green factories.
