The scale of artificial intelligence related industries in Shandong exceeds 100 billion yuan, and nearly 70% of artificial intelligence enterprises are concentrated in the Jinan Qingdao Innovation Application Pilot Zone
Since October 2019, when the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology officially approved the support for the construction of the Jinan Qingdao Artificial Intelligence Innovation Application Pilot Zone, Shandong has adhered to the principle of being the first to pilot and has achieved positive results in promoting the development of the pilot zone. The reporter learned from the promotion meeting for the construction of the pilot zone held on April 26th that there are currently nearly 1000 backbone artificial intelligence enterprises in the province, with nearly 70% concentrated in the Jinan Qingdao pilot zone for innovative applications of artificial intelligence. The core industry output value exceeds 10 billion yuan, driving the scale of related industries to exceed 100 billion yuan, and forming a relatively complete industrial system from basic support, core technology to industry applications.
The establishment of an artificial intelligence pilot zone is a strategic measure launched by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology for the development of the intelligent economy, aiming to build a number of "experimental fields" for innovative applications of the artificial intelligence industry and amplify the "empowerment" effect of artificial intelligence. Shandong has advantages in manufacturing, big data resources, and rich application scenarios. In recent years, artificial intelligence technology has accelerated its promotion and application in various fields of the economy and society, especially in the pilot areas, where related technological innovation achievements have been accelerated and smart product highlights have emerged frequently.
The AI Spring City Empowerment Action launched in Jinan focuses on key industries and advantageous characteristic industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, and education, forming a resource pool of artificial intelligence application scenarios and solutions covering 17 industries and more than 600 enterprises and institutions. Currently, 486 application scenario requirements and 605 solutions have been released. 11 units have been selected for the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's new generation artificial intelligence industry innovation key task unveiling project. Last year, the core industry scale of artificial intelligence reached 27.1 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 17.6%. Starting from this year, artificial intelligence will be promoted as one of the top ten iconic industrial chains in Jinan.
In February of this year, Qingdao Artificial Intelligence Industrial Park was first listed among 15 emerging industry professional parks in the city, and city leaders led teams to Shanghai, Shenzhen, Beijing and other places for special promotion. To strengthen the ecological clustering of industries, the local government has provided real monetary policy support ranging from 2 million to 10 million yuan for enterprises, from rental subsidies to computing power services, to park construction and scene "unveiling". Among the 4050 industrial empowerment and future urban application scenarios collected and released, 931 have been matched.
According to the Implementation Plan for the Integrated Development of Jinan Qingdao Artificial Intelligence Innovation Application Pilot Zone, we strive to establish a preliminary artificial intelligence industry ecological chain led by Jinan and Qingdao in the province by 2025, with the core artificial intelligence industry output value in the pilot zone reaching about 30 billion yuan. The key to developing the artificial intelligence industry is still to do a good job in 'Artificial Intelligence+'. Currently, a large number of enterprises have gained new opportunities and tracks for development from it, but overall, the integration of artificial intelligence and industry is still in its early stages, "said Liu Kezheng, Director of the Science and Technology Department of the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology. Leveraging the obvious demonstration and driving role of Jinan and Qingdao in the artificial intelligence industry, Shandong will further expand the application scenarios of 'Artificial Intelligence+' and accelerate the formation of a batch of replicable and promotable application scenarios and models. At the meeting, the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology released 101 completed and promotable application scenarios collected from the entire province, with a focus on the Jinan Qingdao Artificial Intelligence Innovation Application Pilot Zone, covering multiple fields such as intelligent manufacturing, smart healthcare, smart government, and safety production.
To further strengthen the improvement of basic core technology capabilities, Shandong will continue to hold provincial-level artificial intelligence innovation and entrepreneurship competitions and provincial-level artificial intelligence integration innovation vocational skills competitions this year. Using the competition as a platform, we aim to further attract maker teams from domestic and foreign universities, research institutes, and artificial intelligence enterprises to conduct high-level research on cutting-edge technologies, key core technologies, and industrial applications of artificial intelligence. Through joint problem-solving, we aim to achieve comprehensive ecological collaborative innovation.
