On April 13, 2021, the launch and press conference of the "China Robot Industry Yearbook" (hereinafter referred to as the "Yearbook") was held in Beijing, marking the official start of the compilation work of China's first yearbook on the robot industry.
Robots, as an important component of strategic emerging industries, are crucial equipment for achieving digitalization, networking, and intelligence in industrial production. They are an important productive force for modern economic and social development, and an important means of improving and enhancing people's quality of life. Their development is of great significance for promoting the transformation and upgrading of the national economy, meeting people's needs for a better life, and achieving high-quality economic and social development. Since 2010, China's robotics industry has entered a stage of rapid development, and in 2020, it even grew against the trend, with an output value exceeding 100 billion yuan. At the same time, the technological innovation capability of the robotics industry has significantly increased, with major breakthroughs in key components such as high-precision reducers, motion control, and high-performance servo drives. The overall functionality and performance of the machine have made significant progress, and the brand influence has significantly increased. The application fields of robots are constantly expanding, from mainly in the automotive and electronics industries to rapidly expanding into metallurgy, light industry, textile, building materials, electricity, medicine, agriculture, construction, as well as public safety, emergency rescue, medical rehabilitation, public services, smart homes and other fields. Robot backbone enterprises are accelerating their growth and significantly enhancing their competitiveness.
During the 14th Five Year Plan period, with the accelerated evolution of a new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation, the robotics industry will enter a critical period of high-quality development. With the implementation and promotion of strategies such as manufacturing power, quality power, network power, digital China, and healthy China, China's economy and society will accelerate their intelligent transformation. The evolution of intelligent manufacturing, intelligent mining, intelligent agriculture, intelligent construction, smart public security, smart ports, smart logistics, smart cities, smart communities, smart home services, and smart healthcare will accelerate, putting forward higher demands for robots. In order to meet the urgent needs of national economic transformation and upgrading, improvement of people's quality of life, and social public safety governance, China's robotics industry must be driven by applications, adhere to innovation, consolidate the industrial foundation, strengthen deep integration across fields, enhance the stability and competitiveness of the industrial and supply chains, improve product quality and reliability, and achieve high-end and intelligent development.
In order to faithfully record the development history of China's robotics industry, the China Robot Industry Alliance and the Editorial Committee of the China Machinery Industry Yearbook have decided to cooperate in the compilation of the Yearbook, comprehensively and systematically recording the development status of China's robotics industry and regions year by year, reflecting the achievements of enterprise development, promoting the latest progress of enterprises, products and technologies, promoting the convergence of upstream and downstream resources, providing information support for government decision-making, and promoting industry development and prosperity. The 2021 issue of the "Yearbook" is the first publication of the robotics industry yearbook in China, covering industrial robots, service robots, and special robots. It plans to set up chapters such as overview, industry, market, region, park, industry education integration, enterprise, application, policy, standard certification, personnel, national, statistical data, major events, and appendices to record the comprehensive development of China's robotics industry. The Yearbook is scheduled to be published and distributed by the end of November 2021.
