From January to July, the production and sales of new energy vehicles in China have steadily increased

According to data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers on the 12th, from January to July this year, China's automobile production and sales reached 13.933 million and 14.132 million respectively, a year-on-year decrease of 13.5% and 11.4%. Among them, the production and sales of new energy vehicles were 701000 and 699000, respectively, with a year-on-year increase of 39.1% and 40.9%. The growth rate of new energy production and sales has slowed down recently, but overall it has maintained steady growth.

According to Chen Shihua, Assistant Secretary General of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, July has entered the traditional off-season for automobile sales. In that month, China's automobile production and sales reached 1.8 million and 1.808 million respectively, with a month on month decrease of 5% and 12.1%, and a year-on-year decrease of 11.9% and 4.3%. Currently, although the overall decline in production and sales continues to narrow, the overall downward trend in industry production and sales has not fundamentally changed.

In July, the production and sales performance of new energy vehicles was not as good as the previous month, with a decrease in both month on month and year-on-year sales: the production and sales of 84000 and 80000 vehicles were completed in the month, a decrease of 37.2% and 47.5% month on month, and a decrease of 6.9% and 4.7% year-on-year. Chen Shihua believes that due to the end of the transition period for the withdrawal of new energy subsidies, the sales of new energy passenger vehicles declined in July, directly affecting the overall growth rate of new energy vehicles.

According to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, from January to July, the top 10 companies in terms of car sales sold a total of 12.639 million vehicles, accounting for 89.4% of the total car sales. Meanwhile, among these 10 companies, compared with the same period last year, Great Wall Motors and Huachen Motors maintained a slight increase in sales, while other companies showed varying degrees of decline.

Xu Haidong, Assistant Secretary General of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, stated that from January to July, the overall production and sales of automobiles in China are still operating at a low level. He predicted that with the introduction of a series of relevant national policies and the increasing number of National VI vehicle models, consumer wait-and-see sentiment is expected to improve.
