Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology organized a meeting of the "New Energy Vehicle Industry Development Plan (2021-2035)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Plan") Advisory Committee in Boao, Hainan. The meeting was chaired by Wan Gang, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology, and Director of the Planning Advisory Committee. Xin Guobin, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, introduced the relevant information on the preparation of the Plan on behalf of the planning drafting group.

Xin Guobin pointed out that in accordance with the spirit of the kickoff meeting for the preparation of the "Plan", the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has strengthened communication with various departments, further improved the work plan for the preparation of the "Plan", and formed four research groups to conduct in-depth research and discussions in six places including Guangdong and Shanghai, conducting special research from six aspects: technological innovation, industrial integration, coordinated development with traditional vehicles, internationalization, new models and ecology, and policy guarantees. The planning drafting team has formed a preliminary draft of the "Plan" outline, proposing the overall ideas, strategic objectives, key tasks, and considerations for the implementation of the plan. The next step is to focus on the following tasks: firstly, deepening ideological understanding, researching and exploring new mechanisms, measures, and policies; Secondly, strengthen thematic research and continuously explore new models and ecosystems for future industrial development; The third is to accelerate the work progress, initiate the preparation of the draft of the "Plan", and strive to form the first draft before the end of the year.

Members of the Planning Advisory Committee exchanged and discussed the preparation of the "Plan" and other related content, proposing to further improve the planning position, strengthen research on the integration and development of related industries such as automobiles, energy, transportation, and information and communication, clarify the coordinated development path of internal combustion engine vehicles and new energy vehicles, and attach importance to the safety issues of new energy vehicles.
