The equipment manufacturing industry is an advantageous industry in Shandong. In recent years, Shandong has adopted a model of government guidance, platform hosting, and two-way interaction to promote better connection and support for large, medium, and small enterprises in the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain. It plans to launch a "card entry" action for key enterprises, including high-end equipment. In 2021, the number of large-scale equipment manufacturing enterprises in the province reached 9688, achieving a revenue of 2.4 trillion yuan, ranking fourth in the country. The operating revenue of the high-end equipment manufacturing industry reached 1 trillion yuan, and the added value accounted for 46.4% of the equipment industry.
The first phase of the project covers an area of 336 acres and has a total investment of 4.5 billion yuan. The intelligent connected vehicle innovation center has been completed, with a flexible production line for unmanned logistics vehicles and a mass production automated testing line with an annual production capacity of 50000 units.
